Using texts from Matthew and Proverbs, this work for baritone solo, SATB choir, and organ contains a vast amount of depth beneath its seemingly simple words and texture. The baritone solo is meant to be sung very freely, as chant. The organ part consists of a single pedal note held throughout the length of the piece, and may be played with a key weight. This piece is well–suited for smaller choirs possessing a high level of pitch stability.
