Text

O my people, hear my teaching,
listen to the words of my mouth
I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will teach you lessons from the past: things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors told us

We will not hide them from our children, we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,
His power and the wonders He has done.

So the next generation will know then,
even the children yet unborn,
and they in turn would tell their children. They would put their trust in God,
and would not forget His deeds,
but would keep His commands.

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home.
