A Joyful New Year – By William Kempster

This arrangement of the traditional English New Year's carol is a lively reminder of God's providence from one year to the next. The piece is best suited for a choir that is large enough to produce a good fortissimo while also being nimble with the 2/2 meter and syncopation.

All the Way to Bethlehem – By Ken Medema

Incorporating three treasured Christmas carols (Oh Come, All Ye Faithful; Away in a Manger; The First Noel), this anthem for children's choir and congregation paints a vivid picture for people of all ages. The children's choir repeats the call, “All the way to Bethlehem. Come and see the infant Holy...” to which the congregation responds with the singing of carols.

Around the Throne – By Raymond Haan

This jubilant song provides vivid imagery of the everlasting Heavenly celebration promised in Scripture, as well as how it is possible – through the sacrifice made by Jesus on the cross.

The work was originally scored for SATB, organ, and handbells (piano could substitute for either). An SATB and piano score is also available. The choral parts are identical between the two versions, including the placement of line and page breaks.

This work offers a new twist on the traditional Advent tune. The repeating eighth-note chords in the left hand provide the backdrop under the legato melody. At around two and a half minutes in length, this quiet piece works well as a short prelude. This work was performed, by the composer, on American Public Media's Pipedreams.
