José E. Rodríguez-Parissi
JOSÉ E. RODRÍGUEZ–PARISSI grew up in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in a family of musicians. After playing rock guitar with a local band and singing in the University of Puerto Rico–Ponce Campus Concert Choir, he moved to San Juan to study music at the University of Puerto Rico–Rio Piedras Campus, where he performed with the University of Puerto Rico Chorus and Concert Choir, both under the direction of Prof. Carmen Acevedo Lúcio; he also studied voice with Prof. José R. Torres.
After finishing his Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory & History he studied music education, earning his teaching certificate in General–Vocal Music from the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He currently teaches general music in the public school system and conducts a youth choir, named Vox Humana, at a private Catholic school.

This work, consisting of Psalm 113:1 in Latin, reiterates the command that all servants of the Lord praise him. Written for SATB (with SAT divisi), a cappella, it is suitable for intermediate to advanced choirs.
